First day of Spring… a bit gloomy and cold.
Because it is March…. I am told.
It makes winter go on an on,
Yet the calendar says it should really be gone.

The first day of Spring should be sunny and warm.
But today just doesn’t fit that form.
It’s sunny now, a bit windy too…
It’s the chill that is keeping Spring out in the cold.

One should be getting lighter clothes, ready to go
But staying warm will be the clothes to be worn.
Til the tempature rises and buds start to bloom
Hoping to wear shorts and tee shirts real soon.

So hurry Sping and blow your way in.
So flowers can grow and sprinklers spin.
Causing grass to turn green and robins to sing
Returning leaves to trees… and me… to a porch with a swing.
