The silence woke him
As the night turned to day.
He heard no breathing
As she slumbered away.
The noise of her snoring
Could have woken the dead.
Before she started wearing
That contraption to bed.
They tested her twice
As she slept in their lab.
Hooked to wires with sensors
That blinked round her head.
Statistics they gave
Said her breathing stopped…
Many times…
Causing her to wake, choking for air.
They put her on a machine
Called CPAP.
Blowing air at a steady pace
In her nose through her throat.
She now breathes easily
Through out the night
The CPAP machine
Is working just right.
The night now is quiet
As her snoring is gone
Now he’s awake
Due to the silence of no sound.
